Based in Macclesfield, East Cheshire Hospice supports patients and families across the whole of East Cheshire. Alongside our 15-bed inpatient unit where we provide end-of-life care to over 250 people each year, we also offer a range of support services available to our patients, and their families, friends and carers.
Our Sunflower Wellbeing Centre is here to help anyone who has been diagnosed with a life-limiting illness, giving patients the tools they need to cope. Through our Outpatient Therapies, patients can access a variety of specialist treatments including physiotherapy, occupational therapy, lymphodema care and art therapy.
We recognise the importance of providing a safe space for families, friends and carers to share their experiences and seek support. Through Friends and Family Support, Caring for Carers, and our Childhood Bereavement Service, counselling, professional advice and peer-to-peer support is available.
One of the biggest developments in our service provision since we opened our doors has been the launch of Hospice @Home, allowing people in East Cheshire the opportunity to choose where they would like to die, here at the Hospice or in their own home.
We are a charity and all of the services we provide are free of charge. However, we receive only 17% of our funding from the NHS, meaning we need to raise £7,500 per day in order to maintain our high standards of care to those who need it.
